Well, today has gone better. On many levels. As for haiku writing, for haiku #48 I took inspiration from the #NaPoWriMo day 8 prompt to 'write a poem which relies on repetition'. Quite tricky in a haiku, but I gave it a go. Other than that, I used a lot of kigo today (seasonal words) and am enjoying the cherry blossoms at their fullest before they start to all drop off. Also taking inspiration from the greatest haiku writer of all time, Matsuo Basho - I just finished reading The Narrow Road to the Deep North and Other Travel Sketches. A sort of travel journal crossed with poetry collection.
