Winning entries for the Morgen Bailey Comp

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted much recently as I've been busy with NaNoWriMo2018 (40,000 words written so far...) but just a quick message here to share some good news.

I've been entering the Morgen Bailey 100-word short story comps recently and had a bit of success. I can't remember if I've mentioned this before or not so I'll share all links. To read the stories, click on the link and scroll down - there's always lots of scrolling on Morgen Bailey's website!

This month (October entries), my story 'Departure from Reality as I Take the Big Black Dog for a Walk' won second place. If you didn't know, 'the black dog' is another way of saying 'depression'. The winning entries for this month are particularly pleasing as first place was won by a member of my writing group, and an honourable mention received by an old friend from uni who I always had pegged as a talented writer.

My September entry received an honourable mention (only 1st, 2nd and 3rd places are published on the page) when the theme was 'complex' and my piece was titled 'The Complex Nature of Middle Children'.

And in August, my story 'The Smallest Snips of Silk' came third place, and again there were lots of entries by writers I know.

The November theme is 'owing a debt'... quite a tricky one, but I intend to enter again!
