Four Haiku
Hermit crab -
I plough heart-heavy footsteps
To the sand
Attic room rain drum,
Strangley ensconced -
Springtime sigh
Petals bat together,
Inhaling, taking flight -
A butterfly
Whip wind
Tugs tendrils beachwards -
Sighing waves

The #napowrimo prompt didn't take my fancy today, so instead, some haiku. I'm rereading Basho at the moment (On Love and Barley) after a conversation with June Wentland and its nice to remember how much I like Haiku, and how much I want to explore other Japanese poetry forms. Watch this space... #NaPoWriMo2024
